Huang Mei Gui ( aka Yellow Rose Oolong tea is a Wu Yi Mountain grown tea varietal that is a cross between Huang Jin Gui ( and Huang Dan). Unlike an Anxi Oolong, the tea was grown and processed entirely in the Wu Yi tradition.

Jasmine Dragon Tears is made from the top two leaves and the bud of new season growth. These delicate leaves are then hand rolled into the small pearls. When you infuse these pearls in your tea cup, you will see the top two leaves and the bud come to life. In fact you will see some small ‘hairy down’ on the bud of the leaves – this denotes superb quality and very careful and delicate handling.

The tea has a nutty oolong aroma and taste. Early infusions hint at pine sap and sugarcane. Taste is strong, nutty and vegetal. Tea soup viscous and golden-green. Not a delicate tea but clean taste and good cha qi that reflect it's high mountain origin.
