  • Strawberries rank among the top 10 fruits and vegetables in antioxidant capacity. Regular consumption of anthocyanins, a class of flavonoids found in berries, can reduce the risk of a heart attack by 32% in young and middle-aged women. The flavonoid quercetin, contained in strawberries, is a natural anti-inflammatory that appears to reduce the risk of ?atherosclerosis and protect against the damage caused by low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in animal studies. The high polyphenol content in strawberries may also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) by preventing platelet build-up and reducing blood pressure via anti-inflammatory mechanisms. Other studies have shown that eating strawberries helps to lower homocysteine levels, an amino acid in the blood associated with damaging the inner lining of arteries.

Kiwi contains five time more Vitamin C then orange. It contains very high concentration of Vitamins K, A and E (twice the amount in avocado)along with potassium to balance the body's electrolytes and limiting hypertension and high blood pressure. The copper in kiwi is especially good for children, supporting healthy development in infants, especially in the areas of bone growth and brain development, and also for the formation of healthy red blood cells and building immunity against disease. Kiwi is also one of the few foods rich in vitamin B6, which supports the immune system. B6 is particularly important for healthy fetuses and pregnant or breastfeeding women. The folate in kiwi protects against birth defects, heart disease, and cancer; healthy amounts of fiber keep the system running smoothly, reducing the risk of diverticulitis and carcinogens in the body.

Apples are extremely rich in important antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber. The phytonutrients and antioxidants in apples may help reduce the risk of developing cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. Apples are rich in Vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, dietary fiber, and minerals.

The colorful hibiscus flower is cultivated worldwide for both its aesthetic appeal and its medicinal uses, which are primarily in the form of tea. Studies suggest that hibiscus tea is beneficial with regard to several of its traditional uses, most notably helping reduce blood pressure and control cholesterol. Rich with vitamin C, the hibiscus plant boosts your immune system in all the right ways and is helpful in treating and preventing viruses like the cold or flu. One study reports that people who frequently drink hibiscus tea, saw a reduction of 7.2 points in their systolic blood pressure.

Rose hips are also used for stomach disorders including stomach spasms, stomach acid deficiency, preventing stomach irritation and ulcers, and as a "stomach tonic" for intestinal diseases. They are also used for diarrhea, constipation, gallstones, gallbladder ailments, lower urinary tract and kidney disorders, fluid retention (dropsy or edema), gout, back and leg pain (sciatica), diabetes, high cholesterol, weight loss, high blood pressure, chest ailments, fever, increasing immune function during exhaustion, increasing blood flow in the limbs, increasing urine flow and quenching thirst.
